This exhibition features photographs by youth from the Weston-Mount Dennis community. In partnership with the Outreach Program at Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography, the young artists explore representation and self-expression through photography. UrbanArts is a non-profit community arts council focused on enhancing neighbourhoods by engaging youth in community development through the arts. UrbanArts initiates arts activities that bring people together in central-west Toronto and citywide.

Students from schools in our community have been invited to participate in a Community Youth Mural on a prominent wall in our location. The Mural is entitled, "It Takes A Village" and the topic theme for students work to be based on is how their community has influenced their lives. A local business has generously donated the paint for this work to be done. Students from grades Primary to 12 will be involved.

Come visit artist and University of Windsor MFA candidate Michael Dirisio during his exhibition "Common Goods" at Artspeak Gallery - April 29 thru May 4 2013.
Common Goods is a project that creates a forum for the free exchange and circulation of used goods – everything from books to sofas to ceramic owls. All items that comes through the Common Goods pop-up free stores cease to be owned, however, and are redesignated as common property (meaning not the possession of a single individual).
