We are having an art making marathon downtown! To kick off this year's National Youth Arts Week we are having a 24H ART-ATHON. Drop in and create art with us, or challenge yourself to stay the whole time!

Local businesses in the downtown core of Belleville will be displaying art pieces in their storefront windows for the month of May. All of the art pieces will be created and submitted by local students in the Quinte Region. An art walk tour will be coordinated to view all of pieces.

We'll make bannock and soup together, share our own dishes potluck style, and end the evening off with a musical jam to share the love.

Visit the new Langs Community Centre as they showcase the local talents of Preston High and St.Benedict Secondary School student art. Experience the innovative work of our community teens against the backdrop of the new centre. Take a self directed tour that guides your steps to the framed artwork, enjoy light refreshments while meeting the youth that inspired this exhibition.

This exhibition features photographs by youth from the Weston-Mount Dennis community. In partnership with the Outreach Program at Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography, the young artists explore representation and self-expression through photography. UrbanArts is a non-profit community arts council focused on enhancing neighbourhoods by engaging youth in community development through the arts. UrbanArts initiates arts activities that bring people together in central-west Toronto and citywide.

Join spoken word artists Francie Millar and Nicole Almond for an exploration of how to make performance spaces safer for artists and audiences alike, making communities more receptive to self-expression.

Students from schools in our community have been invited to participate in a Community Youth Mural on a prominent wall in our location. The Mural is entitled, "It Takes A Village" and the topic theme for students work to be based on is how their community has influenced their lives. A local business has generously donated the paint for this work to be done. Students from grades Primary to 12 will be involved.

In celebration of National Youth Arts Week and National Youth Week, the Region of Peel and their community partners are showcasing art pieces from the Express Yourself Media Arts Contest.

The Morinville Youth Art Club will have their first Art Show from Wednesday, May 1 to Tuesday, May 7, 2013. An Open House will be held on Sunday, May 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Everyone welcome! All ages are invited to try to create an Artist Trading Card at the Open House.
